Just in Time for the Holidays: Task Force Receives Sizable Donation to Meet Needs and Bring Joy to Victims and Their Families
Trafficking in America Task Force Inc. was honored to receive a significant donation of toiletries and toys that will be given directly to survivors of human trafficking and high-risk individuals.
“We were overwhelmed at the abundance of donations from GFWC Lutz-Land O’ Lakes Woman’s Club and immediately knew we could put it all to great use,” Amanda Corbin, Vice President of Operations at Trafficking in America Task Force.
Upon receiving the goods, local survivors, their families, and partner organizations were immediately contacted to disperse items. Within hours, survivors were provided basic goods for hygiene and personal care needs. Additionally, survivors and their families will receive special blessings and goody bags this Christmas.
With more than $1000 in donations and goods, additional local organizations who serve underaged victims as well as survivor-outreach organizations were also able to have their organizational needs met through the Trafficking in America Task Force.
“It’s important to recognize that victims and survivors live among us. They have basic needs that go unmet every day, we were humbled to meet the need this week,” Corbin said.
