“I am honored to be featured in the upcoming Discovery Channel documentary, “The Serial Killer’s Apprentice,” which will air on HBO,” stated Jerome Elam, President and CEO of Trafficking in America Task Force
“I am grateful to have the opportunity to shed light on the invisible crime of male victims of sex trafficking through my own personal experience as a victim from the age of five to twelve,” said Jerome.
During the 1970s, Dean Corll, a notorious serial killer, murdered at least twenty-nine boys and young men in Houston, Texas. Recent evidence has revealed his connections to a nationwide pedophile ring that trafficked boys under the leadership of John Norman. Elmer Wayne Henley, a teenager at the time, was groomed by Dean Corll and became his accomplice until he became Corll’s target.
The documentary will feature Henley in conversation with renowned criminologist Dr. Katherine Ramsland. The inspiration for the documentary comes from the book “The Serial Killer’s Apprentice,” co-authored by Dr. Katherine Ramsland and Tracy Ullman.
The Serial Killer’s Apprentice will premiere on Sunday, August 17, from 9-11 p.m. ET/PT on ID and will be available to stream on HBO Max.
